Pumpkin Land at Fairlawn Mansion

Kick off Superior Historic Properties’ Hallo-Week of Fun by visiting our brand new Pumpkin Land! This free outdoor event at the mansion is everything you need to get into the family-friendly Halloween spirit. Enjoy food trucks, live music from Born Too Late, games, pick-a-pumpkin, and a carving and decorating station to carve the pumpkin you picked out!

There will be photo op areas throughout the lawn, so wear your best Halloween costume and snap a photo!

Celebrate Spooky Season by taking a tour of Fairlawn Mansion after dark! This special guided tour takes place in the dark by lantern light. Our superstition experts will share Victorian superstitions, haunted history, and even their own paranormal experiences!

This 30-minute tour takes you throughout all three floors of Fairlawn Mansion. You’ll see traditional Victorian era funeral and mourning decor, photographs, and even some artifacts from our own experiences of unexplained activity inside Fairlawn!

Have you ever wondered why old and abandoned buildings make you nervous? What makes a place haunted? Are there really spirits in some of Duluth and Superior’s oldest locations?

Find out all of this, and more at the Haunted History Talk at Fairlawn Mansion! In this 90 minute event, we will explore the most haunted places in both Duluth and Superior and learn why they make us feel uneasy!

After the History Talk, guests will get to see a live demonstration of the use of dowsing rods, a tool used in paranormal investigations.

SS Meteor Volunteer Work Week

Help us reset the SS Meteor for the upcoming season! Volunteers projects include painting, setting up the tour route, cleaning, and de-winterizing the last remaining above-ground whaleback ship before we open to the public. This year, the projects will be spread out throughout an entire week rather than just one weekend. All volunteers will be required to sign a liability form prior to helping. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
