SS Meteor Extended Behind-the-Scenes Tour

To create a truly immersive experience, tour groups are intentionally kept small, giving guests unparalleled access and opportunities to engage with the ship's history. This special extended tour offers a rare chance to discover the SS Meteor from a unique insider's perspective—an experience not available on a standard visit.
Advanced booking is required for this event. Tickets cost $50 per person.
Motorcycles at the Meteor: Ride in and Show
Rev up your engines and join us for one of the newest events at the SS Meteor! Explore a unique collection of modern and historic motorcycles displayed alongside the world's last remaining above-ground whaleback ship, the historic SS Meteor.
Stroll the ship, meet fellow motorcycle enthusiasts, and cast your vote for your favorite bike in our People's Choice competition. Guests can also enjoy refreshments and treats available at the bar while taking in the sights, stories, and atmosphere of this one-of-a-kind venue.
Whether you're a dedicated rider, a history buff, or simply looking for a fun afternoon on the waterfront, the Motorcycle Ride-In & Show offers something for everyone. Don't miss this unique opportunity to celebrate motorcycles and maritime history together aboard the SS Meteor!
Pumpkin Land at Fairlawn Mansion
Kick off Superior Historic Properties’ Hallo-Week of Fun by visiting our brand new Pumpkin Land! This free outdoor event at the mansion is everything you need to get into the family-friendly Halloween spirit. Enjoy food trucks, live music from Born Too Late, games, pick-a-pumpkin, and a carving and decorating station to carve the pumpkin you picked out!
There will be photo op areas throughout the lawn, so wear your best Halloween costume and snap a photo!

Flashlight Tours of Fairlawn Mansion
Celebrate Spooky Season by taking a tour of Fairlawn Mansion after dark! This special guided tour takes place in the dark by lantern light. Our superstition experts will share Victorian superstitions, haunted history, and even their own paranormal experiences!
This 30-minute tour takes you throughout all three floors of Fairlawn Mansion. You’ll see traditional Victorian era funeral and mourning decor, photographs, and even some artifacts from our own experiences of unexplained activity inside Fairlawn!

Fairlawn Explorer Tour...After Dark
Explore Fairlawn Mansion like you never have before! Join us on this exclusive, after hours tour of the entire mansion, including the rooms not shown on the regular tour.
Our experienced tour guide will take you from the attic to the basement, guided only with a lantern. You'll hear untold stories of the home, see new rooms, and even get a sneak peek on our restoration projects!

Haunted History Talk at Fairlawn Mansion
Have you ever wondered why old and abandoned buildings make you nervous? What makes a place haunted? Are there really spirits in some of Duluth and Superior’s oldest locations?
Find out all of this, and more at the Haunted History Talk at Fairlawn Mansion! In this 90 minute event, we will explore the most haunted places in both Duluth and Superior and learn why they make us feel uneasy!
After the History Talk, guests will get to see a live demonstration of the use of dowsing rods, a tool used in paranormal investigations.
Come in your best spooky attire for the event and enjoy an evening of chills and thrills. Refreshments will be provided.

Superior Children's Home History Talk
What was life really like for the children who called Fairlawn Mansion home?
Step back in time with John Miller, who lived at Fairlawn for ten years when it served as the Superior Children's Home. In this special walking history talk, John will guide guests through the mansion while sharing personal stories, cherished memories, and fascinating insights from his years as a resident.
Along the way, you'll hear firsthand accounts of daily life, friendships, traditions, and even a few little-known stories that bring this chapter of Fairlawn's history to life in a way no exhibit ever could.
Unlike our traditional seated history talks, this immersive walking tour offers a rare opportunity to experience Fairlawn through the eyes of someone who once called it home. Don't miss this one-of-a-kind chance to hear living history from a former Children's Home resident.
Fairlawn Fundraiser & Ice Cream Social

Bayside Sounds Concert at the Old Firehouse & Police Museum
Enjoy an evening of music at the Old Firehouse & Police Museum! Join us for a free Bayside Sounds concert in front of the Firehall. Bring a lawn chair or a picnic blanket to take in the music.
The Firehall will be open from 5:00-6:00 for free tours prior to the concert, so plan to get here early, check out the museum, browse the gift shop, and enjoy an evening of music!

SS Meteor Volunteer Work Week
Help us reset the SS Meteor for the upcoming season! Volunteers projects include painting, setting up the tour route, cleaning, and de-winterizing the last remaining above-ground whaleback ship before we open to the public. This year, the projects will be spread out throughout an entire week rather than just one weekend. All volunteers will be required to sign a liability form prior to helping. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
History Talk at Fairlawn Mansion: Grace Pattison, Her Life, Her Legacy
Step beyond the familiar story of the Pattison family and discover the remarkable life of Grace Pattison—far more than the wife of lumber baron Martin Pattison. As matriarch of one of Superior’s most prominent families, Grace played a vital role in shaping both her household and her community. Refreshments will be provided.
