Restoration at Fairlawn Mansion
In 2025, thanks to the incredible support of our community, we reached our fundraising goal to restore Fairlawn Mansion—specifically Lois Pattison’s bedroom. We began the early stages of the project in December, and now the restoration is officially in full swing!
Work is well underway as we remove the vinyl flooring, repair historic plaster, and repaint the room. One of the most important—and exciting—parts of this restoration is the removal of the fireplace currently located in Lois’s bedroom.
During Fairlawn’s initial restoration in 1998, the fireplace was mistakenly installed in Lois’s room. Research has since shown that it actually belongs in Grace Pattison’s bedroom, where it would have originally been located. As part of this project, the fireplace is being carefully removed from the wall and prepared for reinstallation in its rightful place.
We’re thrilled to see this room coming back to life and to correct an important detail in Fairlawn’s story. We look forward to welcoming the public back to view the restored space by this summer!
